This class is the foundation for coffee brewing and is essential for any newcomer to the coffee industry. This workshop provides this critical instruction and practice and continues to explore the six crucial elements of coffee brewing through manual brewing methods.
At the end of the class, you will have a strong basic knowledge of the principles governing optimum brewing methods. And you will know how to improve your coffee brew each time.
Beginners will have hands-on experience with the equipment and will:
- Identify the four primary sensory aspects of brewed coffee.
- List and explain the six essential elements of brewing.
- Recognise the three main stages of the brewing process.
- Discuss how coffee extraction works using different brewing methods, including complete immersion, pour-over, and AeroPress.
- Explore and practice with brewing devices within one or more of the chosen brewing methods.

The workshop can be tailored to meet each attendee's specific goals. This full-day class is an excellent opportunity for coffee lovers who want to enhance their brewing skills or advance to a higher level, such as preparing for competitions. Attendees can personalise the workshop based on their objectives, and you're welcome to bring your equipment for practice.
